So long Dan, Thanks for the music, I will miss you. I will never forget
your inspiring music. You are missed by more than you'll ever know. I
hope you settle in heaven and start writing again. I would love to hear
angels do background for you. You'll do fine up there. Thanks again Dan,
you will never be forgotten. Love ~ Lester

Thank You Dan for your inspired music and lyrics.
You passed on way too soon but your legacy of love and song will keep our memories warm until we meet again.

Dan's music was a huge part of my life especially during my college
years in the late 70's/early 80's. A part of that is gone with his
passing. His music will be in our hearts forever. ~ Mary Ellen Delayo
RIP Dan
I am so very, very sorry to hear about Dan's passing. His music has been part of
the soundtrack of my life. "Longer" was the first dance at my wedding, and will always remain one of my favourite songs. In recent years, I have introduced my children to Dan's work, and it felt like passing on the location to a family treasure. Because he so clearly wrote from the heart, I have always felt uncommonly close to him, despite never meeting him, and so his death has saddened my own heart.
Dan's music quite simply made the world a better place. His family and friends are in my prayers.
Sincerely ~
Anne Levy-Ward -Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
I cannot tell you the loss I feel from the news of Dan Fogelberg's
passing. His music was so connected to the times of my life where as an adolescent. I
saw the music as a strength and insight into my emotions and life-changing
scenarios. As an adult I was soothed by the depth, appeal and importance of
the lyrics. As a "soul" I would listen and remember all the times of my life
where the music was a part and his music became a part as well.
I had the pleasure of seeing Dan play live in Dayton, Ohio where I live. As
a young man in high school, I learned about Dan Fogelberg as I moved to
Boulder Colorado away from friends I had known all my young life. It was
lonely, painful and growing experience. At the time, he was there writing,
traveling and touring from Colorado. In early 2000, my wife bought us
tickets and gave me a gift of seeing and listening to an artist person who
had such an impact on my young life as well as enjoyment as an adult. It
was a real gift to listen to him. To hear his story and to share the
experience with Kate. Hearing the person behind the lyrics and share his
meaning for the words was a real experience. It was true gift from my wife.
Dear Jean,
May the Lord comfort you with His peace that passes all understanding. Dan has
left us an amazing legacy that will live on forever. The gifts the Lord
placed in him were used to touch so many lives and bring introspection, tears,
peace and comfort through his songs. He lived life well. May you continue to
do so and find peace in each of your days. ~

I did not know of Dan's struggle and am crushed to hear of his death. You will hear it over and over again how much Dan's music has touched lives but I cannot find better words to say the same thing. My husband of almost 50 years and I loved his music and attended one of his concerts in Cleveland. We bought his albums and play his music still today. Dan is with us in our hearts, in our home, in our car on our travels and in our prayers. ~
Joan and Ken Rosenbusch
Dear Dan,
You'll always be in my heart and soul.
Thank you for all.
I'll miss you forever.

As a fan since the 70's, one of my fondest memories is driving through the Rockies of Colorado listening to DF. To this day, when I play his music, it revives the memory of that magical decade. Thank you, Dan, for your contribution to the world. You will be missed. Your music will be heard and will preserve the memory of your excellent musical accomplishment.
Dear Jean and family,
Dan was a treasure. I loved EVERY song he ever sang.
His rendition of "Rhythm Of The Rain " is my favorite...it makes me cry every time I hear it on my cd.
Thank you Dan..."Illinois, 'he's' your boy." (Thanks Illinois.) ~

"In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2) Dan's singing with the angels now...and, awaiting your family's reunion.
My heart is so heavy today with the loss of Dan. His beautiful
voice/music have been a part of my life for over 30 years and brought me
so much joy. The memories will always remain and be treasured. Dan,
your pain is over and I am sure you are singing with the Angels in
Heaven. Jean, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of
Dan's family. ~ Cheryl Hawthorne, TN
We all mourn the silencing of a beautiful voice, and a beautiful person -- but of course, you mourn the most. Condolences on your great loss.
I am heartbroken today to hear this news. My mother raised me on Dan's music. I am from the Louisville area, "Run for the Roses" is our anthem. May God give comfort and peace to Jean as well as generations of fans who mourn along with her. ~ Christy Day

missed. But the Living Legacy will live on each time his music played.
Today, his music will be played on many venues.

To Jean and Dan's family, my heart is breaking for you.
The rest of the world is feeling your loss and your pain. I sincerely thank you for sharing Dan with us, his good times and in the past years, his painful times. I know this was probably not easy, so I am grateful.
There will never be another Dan Fogelberg, he was one unto himself, a musician with integrity, morals and the thoughts of a true man and poet.
I thank him now, and forever, for sharing his words of wisdom and his talent on the instruments that he loved so much.
Dan lives on. ~ Lanette G.- Carlsbad, NM
To Dan's wife Jean and family,
I just wanted to send my deepest condolences and let you know how much
Dan's music touched my life - especially when I was a child. He was a
wonderful musician and a true poet. He will be missed, and his beautiful
songs live on. Peace and comfort to you all.

Please pass on my very sad condolences to Dan Fogelberg's family. I loved
his music and he is missed in this world of music. ~
Tony Rivers.
Thanks for the music Dan, ... so many memories.
It's a very sad day.
What a sad day for this world to lose such a gift as Dan. There were periods in my life when his music was all that sustained me. I remember putting headphones on my belly while I was carrying my firstborn son and playing "There's a Place in the World for a Gambler". One day while playing "Gambler" in the car, my son yelled out "Hey, I know this song!" I nearly drove off the road - he was only 2 (he's now 22). Thank you, Dan. Your voice and lyrics blessed my life....you will be deeply missed. ~ Nancy N.
Rest in peace Dan. You taught me many lessons about life and love in the
lyrics of your beautiful songs. I've always loved music that could tell an
entire life's story in a 3 or 4 minute song and you hit that nail squarely on
the head. My iPod is packed with your music and I'll think of you and your
family every time I hear one of your songs. ~

Longer than there've been stars up in the heavens...we'll be remembering Dan and his
music. I've been a nearly life-long fan, and I'm so sorry his journey with us is over.
Wishing peace to his family today.
I'm sitting here at my desk crying upon hearing the news. I've just
been playing the Christmas CD for the holidays and praying for the
health and safety of Dan and his family. My fist introduction to Dan
was as a 15 year old hearing Nether Lands for the first time. AMAZING! Been in love ever since. Thanks for all the music and the artistry you
have shared with the world. I pray for your family and friends as well
as they adjust to life without you. ~ Jan in Ohio
The first song I ever heard you do was "There's A Place In The World For A Gambler" in a movie called "FM".
That was all it took for me. At the age of 22 I became a permanent fan. Your passing is a shock to me. I am grateful to you that you have left us such a legacy of great music.
My heartfelt sympathies go out to your family and friends.
Rest in peace, Dan. ~
Scott L. Spencer
The world has lost a singer with an Angelic voice. I will be 42 on Christmas and
have loved his music ever since I can remember. Jean is an amazing woman for
loving her husband as much as she did and for being by his side through this sad
event. I lost my mother in February of this year, my dad will be passing
anytime, and my husband has lost 5 family members in 4 months this year. It is a
very hard thing to go through. I admire her for her courage and strength and
will keep her in my prayers for love strength and support. We will miss this man
very much, but his legacy will always remain in our hearts through his music and
lyrics. God Bless you Mr. Fogelberg and thank you for giving us your gift of
voice to remember you by. ~ Teraysa

Dan, you were 'Part Of The Plan' in every life that you have touched, for
through your music you became a part of who we are. I know you have
suffered. I know you are seeing God. Dear Jean, my heartfelt sympathy & tears
are with you. It is those remaining here on the Earth that grieve & miss him.
Please find comfort that, for Dan, his spirit is soaring free, free
from pain.....Dan is home. I love you Dan, I will never forget. With love and
sympathy. ~ Dotty Vega - Clairton, PA
Oooooh, I am soooooo sad to see the newspaper today. I had no idea Dan was ill. I was introduced to his music when I was a young teen in the late 70s. "Part of the Plan", "Dancing Shoes", "Changing Horses", "Leader of the Band", "Run for the Roses", all of these songs permeated my young adulthood. I once wrote him, trying to understand his song, "Part of the Plan", when I was a teen. They all became a part of me and still are. The positive lyrics focused me on the important things in life, things to be treasured, and protected, and valued through the good times and those less than idyllic.
My daughter, who is now 21, grew up familiar with his music, and went through a period of time when he was one of her favorites as well. She will be sad to hear this news. I think I just always thought he would be there. Now I so regret that I did not make the effort to track him down and hear him in concert.
My sympathy and condolences to all of his family and friends. We have all been touched and blessed by an artist with a "thundering velvet hand." ~

Imitation is the sincerest form of piracy and, when it came to Dan, the jolly roger
certainly flew over many of our guitar cases when I was starting out in folk music! To
this day when I'm lost at sea his music remains a wonderful star to steer by. The choir
of angels has another beautiful voice. Peace, brother! ~ John Flynn
How could I ever even begin? A part of us all is gone. Thank you, Mr.

Thank you for your words and music. You will be blessed I am sure for all the
good you have done for others. Imagine how happy everyone in Heaven was to

First John Denver now Dan, we have lost another great songwriter. Whenever I
want to be transported to Colorado or Maine, I just put on one of many of
Dan's songs that would take away from Florida. I have been a huge fan of his
since my friend Cindy introduced me to him in the 70's. I have every one of
his albums. It was so obvious that God spoke through him to us. What a great
gift he had. My heart aches. ~ Jim - St. Petersburg, Florida
My wife and I are stunned at Dan's passing. He was the music to our early years
of
marriage.
My heart goes out to his family. ~ John Meadows -Bonney Lake, WA
My husband and I are among Dan's many fans.
Our prayers are with you Jean and while unaware of Dan's religious beliefs,
we pray that he is safe in the arms of Jesus, gracing heaven with his wonderful
voice.
He will be sorely missed. ~

Many times I've sought solace in Dan Fogelberg's music, and have many
fond memories of his music and concerts. His music has enriched my
life, and touched my very soul! May his family know that he rests in
the loving arms of Christ, and that through Him they will have the
strength to carry on in the days ahead. My thoughts and my prayers are
with you all. May God bless you and keep you. Till we meet again... ~

Dear Jean and Family,
Words can't express my sorrow upon hearing the news. How do you express such
hurt in your heart? For over 20 years his music's been the soundtrack of my
life. His magic w/ words and voice I will continue to carry and be grateful.
Thank you to the Living Legacy website for your contact these last few years
to keep us best informed as you could. Jean, may God bless you and give you

Dear Jean & Family,
Dan's messages through his music touched us in a way so very special and
only in the Fogelberg way could they touch the heart in that special way.
I would listen to Dan driving to the mountains to go camping and
hiking. Personally his music shaped a bit of who I am today from listening
to him since I was 14. I'm so grateful for what he gave us. ~
Kevin Burch -
Wake Forest, North Carolina
A heavy heart when I learned of Dan's death yesterday. He has been a part
of my life since I was in college and since we were born in the same year, he
was someone whose music grew with me throughout those years. I will listen
to him sing his incredible songs until I leave this earth and I will never,
ever forget him. ~
Jolynn
My father just died of cancer. It is a ferocious disease. To Dan's family, you are in my prayers. I first became interested in his music when I was still in high school and he released "Part of Plan." My wife loved his music as well and we kept up with every new album release throughout his career, and we probably attended a half dozen of his concerts over the years, including a private concert performed for about 100 people or so in Colorado Springs. What a brilliant artist he was. He sang and played like it took every ounce of energy he had, and his compositions were truly his own work. I celebrate his very productive life! ~ Jerry Parsons
Rest in Peace Dan. We will all be together soon. Jean, use the
strength that Dan gave to carry on. God Bless one and all. He was an
inspiration to us all. ~

What a truly talented artist, I have enjoyed his music for 30 years!! I
am sorry to hear about his passing. My prayers are for the Fogelberg
family, he will always live in your heart. ~ Donna
I am shocked to read about Dan this morning.
I didn't know,
It certainly is very sad news.
I would like his family to know I'm very sorry for their loss.
I love Dan's music and I wonder if he knew he was popular and appreciated here in Mexico City.
Although I never had the chance to meet him in person, from how he expresses himself in his Greetings From The West Album, I know he was a very sensitive human being.
His music and thoughts will live forever in our hearts.
Rest in Peace, one of the most creative songwriters I've heard.
And Dan, thank you for giving us so much in your music.
Sincerely and with all my kindest thoughts. ~

I can't believe he is gone. I am so thankful that I still have his music to remind me of his talent and grace. Dan you will be missed. ~

Thursday evening traveling back from Dallas to Raleigh, I listened to two
of
my favorite songs:" Same Old Lang Syne" and "Nether Lands." Two songs which
speak to my heart. I made a note as the plane landed to somehow find Dan to
let him know the impact these songs have had on me. Specifically, the
lyrics in "Nether Lands": "Once in a vision, I came on some woods and stood
at a fork in the road. My choices were clear yet I froze with the fear of
not knowing which way to go. One road was simple, acceptance of life. The
other road offered sweet peace. When I made my decision, my vision became
my release."
So, I am sad that my vision...to find Dan to tell him this...is met with
this news. In life, you make a living by what you get and you make a life
by what you give. Dan gave immeasurably through his music and for this,
many are better.
Please accept my condolences for this loss and know that these two songs
will affect me for the rest of my life.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Dan's family at this time. His legacy will live forever in his music and his fans. Godspeed Dan. ~ Kathryn Hoffman
Dan's music touched me and inspired me for 32 years. My he rest in peace
and never be forgotten.
To the family of Dan Fogelberg,
I send you my condolences and my prayers for your profound loss. I have
listened to Dan's music for years and attended his concerts. He was an
extraordinary talent who shared his genius with so many and touched our
lives in ways that would surprise you. May you find peace and solace in
this time. God bless you and your family and know that Dan is at peace. ~
Nancy Canevari
I too am going through prostate cancer treatment at this time. This disease and all other dreaded diseases will one day be done away with in God's new order under the direction of his son Jesus. I will continue to fight on as I know Dan did. My deepest sympathies to the family and close friends. ~

I feel like I have just lost a great friend. This is such a sad day for all. Dan's music and words were so touching - will always be touching. So sad.
To Jean and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you today. I am deeply saddened, but will rejoice that Dan is now beating heavenly wings. Love to you all. ~ Joan Snow
So sorry for the loss of a great musician and human being. Dan, I will miss you. Your musical inspiration is in me always. I was wondering why after many years of not playing any of your songs on my guitar, a week ago I had an overwhelming urge to play some of Dan's music. And I did. And I always will. God be with you. Rest in eternal peace Dan.
I am so sorry. Dan and his music was a very important part of my life, and
still is. He has left us all a wonderful gift that will live forever- his music and our memories. ~
Julia
No songwriter has touched me more deeply over the years than Dan. His
emergence in '72 when I was a college student in Boston had a major impact on me
(only Joni Mitchell has had a similar effect on me with her songs). Since
then, Dan has always felt like an old friend that would be around for a very
long time, continuing to grace us all with his incredible music. His passing,
at such an early age, is just so unfair and sad. My prayers go to his wife
Jean and all of his loved ones. ~
Pam Ireland -Westport, CT
Jean, In this your most difficult hour, please find comfort knowing that your are being
held in our thoughts and prayers. From Peoria to Maine, Dan was an inspiration to us all. ~ Mike and Julie
Good journey Dan -- Now they have another beautiful voice in the heavenly band. Your music touched many people's lives.
With sincere sympathy to the loved ones he left behind.
In 1980, the boyfriend of the girl I was in love with played Nether Lands for me... my musical life changed forever. The girl is long gone - but David and I grieved on the phone together last night after 27 years of friendship and Dan Fogelberg. He's missed.
I´ve just got the news now on Monday at 1:40pm local time Seville, Spain. I´m really so,so sad to have read this. My head is spinning. Only yesterday I wrote a "good luck" message to this wonderful web site and only an hour ago I had a Dan CD on at full volume. It was your rock and blues stuff which I simply loved!
I just can´t put into words at how I feel. I wrote yesterday; You are the "Leader of the Band" and even tho´ you may have left us I will always write that about you in the present tense.
Rest in peace Mister and thanks for the poetry and music ~ Johnny Good - Seville, Spain.
Musicians to embrace and try to capture the simple melodies and breathtaking harmonies of the "Fogelberg" sound.
In almost every instance. it turned out to be our own "poor attempt to imitate the man." As a musician turned health care professional that specializes in cancer diagnosis, I second Dan's urgings for all men to get your PSA checked and put your pride away and bend over for the DRE. Prostate cancer is highly treatable, but only if you find it. ~
Steve Chapman -
Jacksonville, FL
Walked into the Red Herring coffeehouse in Urbana, IL in, I think, 1971, with some
friends. There were these guys Dan Fogelberg and Elliot Delman playing. I thought "I'm
in this tiny venue listening to an unknown freaking Simon & Garfunkel!" Saw Dan every
time I could at the Red Herring and Krannert Center. 35 years later, my wife and I still
make love listening to his 1st album, Home Free.
Dan has been an important part of our lives since we were 14 years old! We
truly feel as though a best friend has died. Ours thoughts and prayers are
with Dan's family during this very sad time. Life is so fragile. The world
has lost an amazing musician and an amazing person. May Dan's memory be
everlasting. ~
Barbara and Dom
For the majority of my life, "Love when you can, cry when you have to" has
been the mantra by which I have survived.
Today, I am crying. ~
Tammy Bitterman, CBM
Dear Jean Fogelberg:
How sad I am about Dan's passing. I knew he was sick, but hadn't heard much. I loved
his music through the years and went to concerts in the Austin, Texas area where I lived.
I am a grandmother now, and still have the albums in my car. I read the death notice
last night and spent awhile telling my granddaughter all about your husband. We listened
to some songs and I told her the stories as I knew them, behind each song. My husband is
a medical doctor and we sympathize enormously with what you have been through the last
few years, medically speaking. Tonight, our family will say the rosary for Dan and pray
that God has mercy on his soul. He was a fine musician. He impacted generations of music
lovers. I will soon acquire the Christmas album Dan made.
Regards ~
Allison and Robert Wiggins, M.D.
Jean,
I am glad that God allowed Dan to be a part of the music of my life. I wish you the comfort that only God can give. I suppose random messages from fans are almost idiotic at a time like this. But I do understand grief. I lost my dad, my two brothers and my only sister, three of them to long-term illnesses and one to a work accident. I know the pain seems so sharp and so dark at times. But I also know that God can turn pain into pleasant memories and tears into a smile. I hope he gives you his comfort in the long run. I also hope you will have friends and others to talk with a few weeks from now, when all of the funeral and tributes and whatever are past.
I hope that you will find the magic in every moment and that you will be able to carry Dan in your heart and yet live the life God has for you on the road ahead. Many blessings ~
Ken Y - in Chile
He was with us at our wedding in song.. A beautiful song, "Longer".
His lyrics are inspiring, his songs will be in my heart forever.
He knew how to reach into someone's heart through his words.
God Bless His Family.
You are up there in heaven, sing to us through the air we breathe. ~
Jeannie Piatt -

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dan's passing yesterday. It seems that some of the most deeply touching times of my life were accompanied by an equally touching Dan Fogelberg song. As Billy Joel sings, "only the good die young". Dan Fogelberg will sing throughout the rest of my lifetime in my heart and will be enormously missed. My heart goes out to Jean and my prayers are with you. Though I'm sure you are grateful for your time together, the loss of a loved one is always great. May the love of God our Father bear you up and hold your heart and your hand through this time and know that the love of countless others who loved Dan and his music are with you caring for you in spirit. ~

Your music, especially the song "To the Morning," helped me get through college and write
my thesis. I thank you for your music, which is playing in the background, and will spend
the day celebrating life. It seems fitting in-as-much as your music is a constant
celebration. Thank you.
How sad to lose Dan and his beautiful gift for music. My thoughts go out to

I'm so saddened by the loss of this lovely, talented man. My heartfelt
condolences to Jean. I pray God gives you the strength to carry on. Dan will be
missed.
This is truly the day the music died and my heart is broken. There will
never be another songwriter with Dan's heart and words. The only way I
can get through this is I know Dan is that eagle he watched fly so many
times looking over the land he loved so much and guarding his loved
ones. He is the proof if there's a rock-n-roll heaven he is the "Leader
of the Band".
We love you and will miss you Brother. ~ David from Alabama
Dear Jean,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. My husband has advanced prostate
cancer, diagnosed in 2005. Your loss hit home for me and I, like many cancer
survivors, have found that sharing information , comparing notes.. Sometimes
provides useful. It seems like you and Dan had a wonderful love together and
I'm sure his physical loss is heartbreaking. My deepest condolences.
My husband at 50 had a psa of 45, then he had a radical prostatectomy,
hormone shots (intermittent) and he still has a rising psa..He just
completed 8 weeks of radiation and is feeling weak but tired.
My heart and prayers goes out to you.~
Barbara
Dear Jean-You have my most sincere and heartfelt condolences for your loss. Dan and his music has a profound effect on my life. His voice and lyrics and songs always caused me to pause and listen for a while, especially when life got hectic. He will be truly missed and for me, he will always live on in his songs and music. I will be praying for you in this trying time of loss. I am so very, very sorry for your loss and the profound grief that comes with losing someone you love. Sincerely ~ Suzanne Bennett
We are numb.....and tears flow openly. It's times like these that show
us how fragile life can be. We picture Dan in the presence of "The
Leader of the Band" while they both smile down on us. Thank You and God
Bless You, Dan Fogelberg. ~
Bucky & Irene Pollard
Your soul touched my soul. May you know that your songs will live forever
in our hearts.
Godspeed to the Leader of the Band. ~

I just heard the news and did not realize that Dan was so ill. I am so sorry and send my condolences to his family and friends. I have been listening to Dan's music since I was 15 years old and I am now almost 45 years old. I have 2 older brothers and they got me started on his music. I even wrote an essay in college about Dan and how talented he was. I was amazed how many different instruments he could play. I am now listening to his Christmas cd which I picked up at the last concert my husband and I attended. We danced to his song "Since You Asked" at our wedding. We have been fans for many years. If I had known he was ill I would have emailed this sooner. I am truly upset by his passing and hope that he had a good life while he was here with us on earth. Now he can sing with the angels. Sincerely ~ Connie Cox, Petersburg, NJ
Ever On, Dan. It's never happened before. I always thought it silly
those groupies who would scream and cry and carry on over a favorite
artist but I cried all the way to work this morning listening to
your voice that will live forever in my heart and mind. One of those
children of the 70's and 80's who found sanity in a crazy time, in
the emotions that your heart and mind were able to articulate in words
and music. It's not a stretch that your genius saved me in my youth.
Godspeed and heartfelt wishes to your family. I will miss you beyond
belief. ~
Sarah J. Adams
I have been and always will be inspired by his music. Many of his songs bring
back vivid memories of special times in my life. God Bless him and his family. ~

To the family and friends of Dan Fogelberg,
please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of such an extraordinary man.
As a fan, we can only come to know the artist through his music. Although we
all did not have the chance to know him personally, I think we learned a lot
about his character through his songs. His voice had been missed over the
past years; thankfully, it is preserved for us to enjoy and share with
future generations. May God comfort you in this time of sadness.
Sincerely ~
Cathy Lambeth
Dear Jean,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I've had Dan on my mind very strongly the last
week. 56 is too young to leave us. His music has been in my head through good
times and bad, so often the best choice to express my feelings.
My father died of prostate cancer almost five years ago, and I wrote Dan
about it maybe a year ago. Dan's death hit my sister and me real hard this
morning. His music meant a lot to us through the years. I expect we'll be visiting
Dad's grave with a nice bottle of wine, as we do from time to time, and this
time playing Dan's music for Dad.
We've had signs from our Dad since he left us. I hope you're blessed with
the same from Dan. We'll be keeping you in our thoughts as you go through this
difficult time.
Sincerely ~ Cathy Naghitorabi
We are truly diminished by your passing. Your music enriched our lives and your example was an inspiration to many. You sing with the angels now and we look forward to that time when we can share your presence again in heaven. With a heavy heart ~ The Douglass Family
I'm so sad right now. Just got the news from the radio here in Ireland. You will be such a loss to music. My thoughts to your family cannot be expressed as I would like to express them the way I'm feeling right now. It's as if I had lost a dear brother of mine and that is the way I feel for you and your music. Any time I feel down I always go and play ''The Reach''. It always brings me up again. May the Lord comfort your family at this time. I know where you will be playing your music from now on, so write good stuff for Him. Hope to see you at a later time my friend.
God will always bless you. ~
Charles (Ireland)
Jean and Dan's family,
Our deepest grief and sympathy go out to you at the loss of Dan. His battle
with cancer was hard fought and our thoughts and prayers are with you. I
pray God's strength and peace will supernaturally embrace you and that you
will have faith that you will see him one day yourselves in God's presence.
His music will live forever on in our hearts. We love you and him. ~ The
Berridges, Houston, Texas.
We will always remember the pleasure you brought us with your music. You
will be deeply missed....
Only the good die young. He will be missed but not forgotten. Thank you
Dan for the way you lived your life, to the fullest and with joy and
love for others. ~
Daniel "Danny" Atkinson, Jr.
I've been married for 33 years, and Dan's music has been the background
of our happiest times. He will be missed. God be with his family.
Heartfelt condolences on Dan's passing. His music has gotten me and
others through difficult times. I hope you will find comfort in good memories and
the knowledge of what a great impact he has had on my life and so many
others.
Rest in peace, Dan. I am sure there is a great concert going on today with
the Leader of the Band. ~

I saw Dan at the Keil Opera House in St Louis in the late 70's. Although he was suffering from a sore throat he insisted on playing. He put on an incredible show. I am very sad today ~ JR
May the Lord bless Dan in his journey to the afterlife. His music was
inspirational and wonderful and he will be missed. May God bless his wife
and family during this terrible time. ~

I was fortunate enough to see Dan play in Philadelphia in the 70's, as the opening act for the Eagles. I had never heard of him before, but after hearing him sing, I no longer cared whether or not the Eagles even took the stage! To this day, 30+ years later, Captured Angel, Nether Lands, and Souvenirs are still three of my most played CD's. "The Last Nail" remains as one of my most favorite songs of all time. May you rest in peace, Dan, and may Jean find comfort in the love shown to him here. ~ Elizabeth - Wilmington, DE
My heartfelt prayers to Jean and your families on the passing of a great
man whose music touched my life. To the heavens he travels to join
God's choir! What heavenly music there will be. ~
